How Much Does a Bathroom Remodel Cost?
This is usually the first question that people ask. While it is hard to give you an exact quote without seeing the project in person, you can use this guide to get some idea of what it may cost.
For an exact figure of what your bathroom remodeling project will cost, schedule an appointment with us for a free, in-home, no obligation quote.
Bathroom remodeling cost can vary greatly depending on the size and scope of the project. But we can give you some base prices to get a better idea of what it may cost. We base most of the process on square footage.
Demolition – This is usually the first portion of any bathroom remodeling or updating project. It is very hard to estimate an amount it may cost to demolish and remove the current bathroom fixtures and finishes. But if you would like for us to quote you on the removal, head over to our contact page where you can send us an email with pictures of your current bathroom you are considering updating and we can quote you there. Or of course we would be delighted to give you an in-home quote for the entire process.
Something to keep in mind for the demolition process is that when removing the wall tiles, the gypsum or plaster walls behind the tile are removed as well. So this substrate will need to be replaced before new tiles can be installed.
In many cases, customers will choose to keep their existing bathtubs and toilets when updating their bathrooms. These fixtures may still need to be removed and kept safe through the process
Preparation – Can include replacing the gypsum board or backer-board that the tile is to be installed on. Or we could be using different tile installation systems such as the schluter system. Again, this is only a guide to give you a base price of what it may cost. To install these substrates can start at $5 per square foot and go up to $12 per square foot. This includes material cost. It depends on the system we decide is best and the complexity of the area where it needs to be installed.
Among preparation concerns are additional framing for wall niches or grab bars. A basic wall niche can add $150-$200 to your project. But more extravagant niches can be more costly.
Installation – We can give you an idea of what some of the installation prices are for commonly updated items. These are only labor prices as the finish materials such as tile, tubs, toilets and cabinets can vary greatly.
Wall tile cost from $8 -$14 per square foot. The cost will be lower for basic installations and can go much higher for more complex designs and layouts.
Floor tile can go for $5-$12 per square foot again depending on the complexity of the layout.
Border tiles are bid by the linear foot and start at $5 per square foot and can go up from there depending on the type of tile used and the complexity of the install such as applying mitered cuts on the corners.
Bathtub installation starts at $350. But it can go up from there depending on the style of tub, accessibility and style. Claw foot tubs may require additional labor.
Using this information, you can get an idea of what it may cost to remodel your bathroom. For an exact amount, schedule an appointment with us for a quote.
How Long Will My Bathroom Remodel Take?
The last thing you want is to have your bathroom torn to pieces. And the last thing we want is to be camped out at your home for a month. That is why we move fast.
We can finish a typical bathroom in 5 days or less. We do not schedule jobs to overlap each other so we are able to focus on your project.
Of course there are some exceptions to this. Some of the more complex designs may take slightly longer. We will make sure we have all of the materials on site or readily available before we get started to avoid delays
